HP DL585 BSOD setting up 2008R2
Hi,
Brand new DL585 G7 128GB 4x16core CPUs, I'm getting a blue screen, see attached file. I've ran through the latest SPP, disabled AMD-V in the BIOS. Tried different installing it to a different raid array a 300gb raid 1 and a 800gb raid1)
Any ideas?
Cheers
Mike

Re: HP DL585 BSOD setting up 2008R2
Hi,
perhaps you're meeting some memory limit.
Problem with a memory, if you disable some / remove some DIMMs/CPU does that change anything.
Google shows plenty of hotfixes for 2008 R2 for the 0x000001E stop code.
You could try to install 2008 R2 with the patches slipstreamed if you never make it into the OS.

Re: HP DL585 BSOD setting up 2008R2
In the last few minutes, I seem to have cracked it: I just booted straight into Windows 2008 R2 setup and didn't use SmartStart so it seems that was it.

A memory access violation occurred. (Parameter 4 of the bug check is the address that the driver attempted to access.)
This is a result of a faulty driver.Do you have an alternate image?Where did u download the image from?
