HP DL585G7 NC375i 1G w/NC524SFP 10G Module

Hi all.

I am having an issue with the on board NC375i NIC in an HP DL585 G7.

This is a quad port gigabit ethernet port system. Ports 1 and 2 do not work when plugged into any network port. Ports 3 and 4 work perfectly.

I have updated the firmware to  4.0.579

and the drivers to 4.4.8.812

Running Windows Server 2008R2 SP1.

I have tried these two troublesome portsin in the following

CISCO 3750, 2950, Netgear 5 port switch. all autosensing 10/100/1000.

All the adapters, 1, 2, 3, 4 have identical settings in windows. Like i said, ports 1 and 2 fail to get a link light, and report Network cable unplugged in windows. Ports 3 and 4 work perfectly.

All ports are enabled in the bios. All ports report working correctly in the Device manager. I am all but bereft of ideas. Please help.

Thanks

Byron Langslow

Hey, do you have HP's Networking Software installed? Maybe that needs to be updated too. Tried teaming / breaking team?

Yes It's as it should be. When you install the HP NC524SFP it "replaces" the rj45 nic port 1 and 2.

here is a a section of the pdf linked below.

"When installed on the SPI board, the HP NC524SFP Dual Port 10GbE Module provides two 10G NIC

connectors for server I/O. When the HP NC524SFP module is installed, 1G NIC connectors 1 and 2 on the

rear panel are unavailable."

Wow. Thank you thank you thankyou! I cannot thank you enough. Wonderful news! I'll see how I go now. (I wanted to use the 10GB SFPs but the infrastructure to support it is not in yet. *sighs*)

Old case of RTFM eh :D
