HP Drive Formatting

I was hoping someone would know a way I can Speed up the Low Level Formatting that is done through the Array configuration utility? It has been running for HOURS on my 146 GB Drive.

It's not surprising though - low level format takes ages indeed.

Why were you after it instead of standard formatting?

Actually I wasn't givin the option, it performs the Low level as default. To help better understand, I just received a new ML150 server with a Raid Controller and 2 146Gb Drives. In order to initialize the drives and configure the Array, it needs to format them. But again, it has been HOURS. I was hoping to have the OS installed and server configured today but doesn't look that way.
