HP Driver update package locks server

I have a Proliant ML370 G4 running Windows2003R2 and I ran into a bit of a problem running PSP v8.30. It appears that the NC-Broadcomm install package causes my server to lock up. I lose all mouse/keyboard functionality. I have to perform a hard shutdown. Upon reboot my NC7771 and NC7781 nics have a red X in device manager. I have to uninstall the driver and have it search again to bring them back. This also happens when I try to run cp010857 by itself. I even tried to extract the drivers and tried to manually update them but Windows rejects them saying they aren't the best driver... Both are running version 12.2.0.2 currently. Any ideas?
