HP HD Rebuild

Attached is an Array Configuration Utility diagnostic file for a Proliant DL380G3.
RAID 5 has not rebuilt after the last drive replacement. Status indicates, "Logical Drive is queued for rebuild." Firmware for array and drives have been updated. Drive 4 has been replaced with a new drive. Server has been rebooted several times.

Please advise.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

Here is a text version of the diagonstic file. I didn't find a missing ID but I'm not sure exactly what I am looking for.

I have read throught the report. It looks like I will be rebuilding.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

Yes, the ADU reports are not easy to read. And I'm also having a hard time reading yours.

But here's another suggestion.
Use the System Management Homepage.

Check all physical drives.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

Using the System Management Homepage.

Drive 2 & 4: Smart status is OK although detailed info is not given.

Drive 4: Smart status is OK. Detailed info looks great.

Drive 5: Smart status is OK. Detailed info indicates 10883 Hard Read Errors.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

The logical drive is queued for rebuilding.

this happends when you have a parity array.

recommendation. set rebuild speed to hi and wait!, there no much you can do to it.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

Rebuild priority has been set to high from the beginning.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

In general, there's no reason to set the rebuild priority to high.
The controller will use all available (Idle) time for the rebuild.

I believe, the reason for the rebuild not starting, is the read errors on drive 5.
Drive 5 also need to be replaced.

I'm affraid you will need to use your backup now.
I would like a second oppinion on this.

Re: HP HD Rebuild

In the end I restored the logical drive from backup using 4 different drives.
