HP IP Console Viewer for Linux .. repeating Key

Ladies & Gents.

I am running HP IP Console Viewer for Linux v4.0.0.94 on my desktop linux box.

Once connected to a server, every character I type is repeated. eg if I try to log in as "mike" is reads "mmiikkee".

It happens on all servers (win & linux) I have tried changing the keyboard settings but still no good.

HELP!

sounds like some form of "echo" setting needs to be turned off in the communications hardware or protocol
