HP Insight Foundation Agents service fail to start

Hi,

I have a DL380 G4 running windows 2003 sp2 and the hp insight foundation agent service fails to start.

This is the event viewer error:

event id: 7000
Descrip: The HP Insight Foundation Agents service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

The agentis version 8 that was upgrade from 7.6. Is there a way for me to just uninstall this agent and re-install it. If so how to uninstall it and which specific file to re-install it.

yes you can uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs or you don't have it there?¡

just to let you know there is a known issue and HP recommends update Proliant support pack in this way for example

if you have PSP 7.6 go to 7.8 -> 7.91 -> 8.0
avoiding big jumps

if you have that in Add/Remove programs
uninstall it
and install (these are only foundation agents)

you can try installing 8.0 right away
I think can work but just in case I linked previous version

There are many HP apps in the Add/Remove programs...which one is specific for the insight foundation agent?

I have got the same problem, I reinstalled hp insight management agents. After that i did restart the server, but still the same problem
