HP ML 350 G6 Raid P410i Questions

Hello,

On HP ML 350 G6 i have p410i with 512mb bbwc, I' doing raid with six 1TB SATA  7200rpm HDDs.

After centos 6.3 install, copyed 20 GB data on raid area only.

Problem is that I'm getting load avarage randomly in every houre, abot 0.30, 0.50. 0.55. At this moment Server is doing nothing and it is empty.

After 10-15 minutes of this load is gone and server load avarage is 0.00 about one houre, after that load comes again.

What can be the reason of this random loads?

Here is config of raid array,

I marked with red color, what does it means? How it effects on linux OS? Can it make load avarage?

Anyone knows?

Re: HP ML 350 G6 Raid P410i Questions

Hello, I'm not sure what that text in read actually means.
But perhaps it's the parity initialization of the disk that's not completed? Maybe that's what the disk is doing?

Monitoring scripts or something that polls the server/array can also cause this kind of load.

Re: HP ML 350 G6 Raid P410i Questions

parity initialization of the disk is completed several days ago.

I can see in status: Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Completed
Can I change this  Monitor and Performance Delay: 60  min from ACU?

Set  for example 720 minutes (12 hours) or 360 minutes (6 hours)?

I have Advanced license for raid controller.

Re: HP ML 350 G6 Raid P410i Questions

With hpacucli you can do:

<target> modify mnpd=0-1440

Unsure if you can do this from the GUI.
