HP ML110 G7 Toshina 3 tbyte sata to add
Please help!
I have to mount to HP ML110 G7 addionally (SATA RAID already there is working) new SATA hard drive Toshiba 3 Tbyte
I connected it instead of SATA optical drive but bios and windows 2008 did not recognize it at all
There is option in Bios to switch to SATA AHCI mode but warning is given that this could lead to data loss in RAID disk
If i mount hard drive in the bay 3 to already existing disks only 850 Gbyte is seen
How to detect new drive? should i swith to SATA AHCI mode. Or should i update bios
What can be done?

Re: HP ML110 G7 Toshina 3 tbyte sata to add
Don't switch the mode, this may destroy your RAID.
Better see
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2581408
>> only 850 Gbyte is seen
Where exactly?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP ML110 G7 Toshina 3 tbyte sata to add
Thanks a lot
when mounting as third hard disk in the bay 3 of raid stack,
and pressing f10 i can create new raid 0+1 with this Toshiba disk but it is proposed to add only 850 Gbyte.
But still rises the question is it possible to detect hard drive Tohiba QSG-SATAHDD-v2-1214 in SATA port by BIOS or not?
May be in BIOS i can switch something to SATA detection disk, also on the motherboard there is one more SATA port
How it can be turned on?
How at all operation of adding new hard disk 3Tbyte should be provided in a right way?
i have windows 2008 r2

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP ML110 G7 Toshina 3 tbyte sata to add
If you turn off RAID in BIOS you will lose the data on your both disks.
Don't change the mode!
However, compare the quickspec of the server:
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04286751.pdf
the largest (spinning) disk supported is 4TB.
No SSD listed at all.
You could try to check if the latest driver is installed
and maybe you could make a screenshot where you see the 800GB disk size.
Latest BIOS is 2013.07.01 - http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5075944&swItemId=MTX_2efe6b96610a4e6f93613b1137&swEnvOid=4064#tab3
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
