HP ML350 G5 Single processor server getting amber PPM2 LED on motherboard.
I am doing work for a school. They have an ML350 G5 server purchased in 2008. Single processor, 2 power supplies. The server is on a UPS unit.
The PPM2 light on the mother board is on (amber). This is confusing me because this is a single processor box. Do I have to add a PPM in that slot even though it’s a single processor box?
I tried powering up with a single power supply (rather than 2). Then tried the other one. This had no effect. I don’t see any other issues with the box. I also blew all the dust out of the box.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I need to get this going ASAP.

Re: HP ML350 G5 Single processor server getting amber PPM2 LED on motherboard.
Hi,
PPM 2 is not necessary if there is no second processor installed.
If PPM 2 led is amber/red then it indicates a issue with power supply or power backplane.
If you have another ML350 G5 server then swap the power supply from that server.
Thank You!
