HP ML370 G5 power loss issue

Hi everyone,

I've encountered a problem, our ML370 G5 server turns off periodically. We have already replaced the PSU, it not helps. :(  After the server turns off, the PPM1 LED on the Systems Insight Display is amber. The PPM module is installed properly.

I've also noticed that a radiator installed on one of chips is actually not properly installed. I cannot even remove it - it is fixedly glued. What is this chip, maybe it's overheat is a reason for power loss? (a system board's photo in attach)

Re: HP ML370 G5 power loss issue

Hi,

Was the server working fine all these years?

If PPM1 led is amber, have you tried replacing the PPM1 or swapping it with known good one if you have any.

That chip could be the Graphics chip (my guess).

Any errors in Windows Event Log or HP IML Log?

Thank You!
