HP ML379 G6 SERVER BOOT FAILURE

HI GUYS,

I HAVE AN HP SERVER ML370 G6 RUNNING WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 OS, BUT WHEN I PUT ON THE SERVER MACHINE

EVERY MORNING. IT ALWAYS FIND IT VERY HARD TO BOOTUP PROPERLY ONTO WINDOWS SERVER 2008 OS.

THE SERVER WILL TRY TO BOOTUP USING EITHER THE CDROM OR THE NETWORK ADAPTORS REPEATEDLY FOR A WHILE BEFORE FINALLY BOOTING UP PROPERLY TO WINDOWS.

I NOTICED THIS PERIOD OF TRYING TO BOOTUP, THE HDD SATA INDICATOR LEDS ARE TUNED OFF.

How can i make the server boot straight to windows OS?

THANKS GUYS.

as a variant - try to switch off boot from CD-ROM and from network, or just put "boot from HDD" to the first place in boot list (you have to do it in BIOS)

Re: HP ML379 G6 SERVER BOOT FAILURE

I DID WHAT YOU SUGGESTED BY MAKING THE HDD BECOME FIRST BOOT IN THE BOOT ORDER, BUT IT IS STILL BOOTING UP THE SAME WAY.

PLEASE I NEED MORE SUGGESTIONS.

THANKS GUYS

Re: HP ML370 G6 SERVER BOOT FAILURE

Are you using P410i Array controlller in the server to configure the drives?

Did you build an array and set it active?

Have you set the boot order to boot from the array controller?

Here is the RBSU guide to help you in properly configuring this server:

Enjoy!
