HP NC375T - 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'

 

When I reboot my HP ProLiant DL385 G7 with two additional HP NC375T quad port adaptors some of the NIC ports show as warning in device manager with a device status of 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'

 

The driver is - (12/08/2011) 4.4.8.812 running NCU 10.50.0.0

The OS is - Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

 

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this once and for all?

Hi,

 

Code 10 error relates mainly to hardware and device driver issues or to compatibility issues between hardware drivers and additional software that is installed in Windows.

 

Some work arounds to fix this issue:

1.  Shutdown the server and remove any USB devices connected and reboot the server.

2.  In Device Manager if still the issue persist then disable and enable the NIC once.

3.  Check if any windows updates are available to fix this issue from Microsoft.

4.  You may also reboot the server into Safe Mode and remove the NIC drivers.

5.  Reboot the server so that NIC is automatically detected.

6.  You may also try to install the NIC into different PCI slots if available.
