HP Power Manager 4.29 webinterface problem

Hello,

I have a HP R/T2200 INTL UPS.

I connected the UPS with serial cable to a HP DL385 server running Windows 2003 R2 32bit and then installed HP Power Manager 4.29, which went fine.

However, when I open the url for the management webpage, it keeps refreshing every second or so, so it is impossible to use the webinterface really.

On the web address, it seems that it is trying to show http://server-ip:90/Contents/index.asp but is then sent to http://server-ip:90/goform/formLogout and then to http://server-ip:90/index.asp .. and that is an endless loop..??

I would say check the security settings in IE. Maybe add an exception for that URL into Trusted sites and set the security for that trusted sites groups to low.

I know on most of my servers when I try to bring up any HP local page, it gives me a warning that something is bad or out of date and I have to click Let me through anyway.

Re: HP Power Manager 4.29 webinterface problem

Thanks for the ideas, but I already did that.

Disabled security on both IE, Firefox and Chrome - no difference.

Added URL to trusted zone - no difference.

Does not really seem like a browser thing, huh? :-/

Re: HP Power Manager 4.29 webinterface problem

Hi..

There is not a firewall enabled on the server.

I already did clear cache, history etc using IE 7.0.5730.13 on the server itself, but unfortunately it didn't help either :-/

Re: HP Power Manager 4.29 webinterface problem

you see ronnij explorer 7 not really supported

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/power-manager/sup_oss.html
and look at the supported operating systems too

and check this too

ISSUE:
A system running HP Power Manager (any version) may not be able to communicate with a system running the Remote Agent (any version) if a firewall is blocking communication on TCP port 3573.
For example, from a system running the Remote Agent on a Microsoft Windows operating system, it will report 'No Device ' in the system tray.
From the system running Power Manager, a configured system will show a red X in the Attached Devices screen.
SOLUTION:
To enable communications, disable blocking of port 3573 from the firewall. For example instructions on how to perform this for the firewall software included in a Microsoft Windows operating system, refer to the HP Power Manager User Guide.

Re: HP Power Manager 4.29 webinterface problem

Hi,

I have tried both from a seperate PC on the LAN (http://server-ip:90) and locally on the server (http://localhost:90) - and no, there is no firewall in between.

Strangely, this morning it works.. that's just plain weird..

By the way.. IE7 is supported:
