HP ProLiant 64-Bit/66-Mhz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003

I have a DL585 G2 with an "Adaptec SCSI Card 29160 Ultra160 SCSI" card shown in device manager. The "ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Version 8.00A" Support Pack insists that this card is a "HP ProLiant 64-Bit/66-Mhz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003" though this is not the case.

The support pack in the Version Control Agent shows a warning (!) next to this entry indicating it is out of date. I have tried to apply the update to get rid of the warning though HP SIM, but get the following message:

Smart Component, cp008466.exe, failed to install with status 0.

I also tried to manually install the update. When I run the installation utility, I get the following:

The software is currently installed, but does not need to be installed on this system.

Current Version: 6.4.630.100



Press 'Close' to exit Setup.


My question is: How can I let HP SIM know it has the wrong idea of which SCSI card is installed in the server so I can get rid of the warning status?

Did you ever have this card installed in your server?

I was thinking if you did you might be able to install it again and delete it from the device manager and hence deleting these drivers might clear the error, but you would have to try.

the only similar HBA supported from the server is :

which uses :

Can you give the part number of the controller you have?
