So, I got a new server which is DL 180G6 E5606 with 2* HP 2TB 6G 7.2K 3.5" LFF SAS DP Hard drives but BIOS do not detect them. Drives are properly mounted and I also tried to switch to RAID mode and boot but it didn't help. I've done lots of googling and I feel I am the only one with this issue. Maybe there is a bios patch? Unfortunately I am not near server anymore but far as I can remember it had BIOS from feb 2011. Any help is appreciated.
**EDIT** Looks like it's debian linux issue. Debian squeeze + Smart Array B110i SATA RAID is a no go unfortunately.

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 Smart Array B110i SATA RAID do not detect HP 2TB 6G 7.2K 3.5" LFF SAS DP.
Hmm maybe debian net installer does not support disk driver. I thought I could see my drives in the bios but maybe SAS drives are not detected in bios at all. Can anyone confirm? I'm confused.

Now I've been doing even more research looks like it's because debian do not support DL180 G6 with Smart Array B110i SATA RAID out of the box, is there a way to make it work? I've seen few topics about this particular server and debian squeeze so atleast somebody got it installed well.

To sort this out if this is debian related -
1) check if you have latest firmwares
2) try another distro - like centos 6 - just if this runs ok

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 do not detect HP 2TB 6G 7.2K 3.5" LFF SAS DP.
Is it possible that DL 180 G6 635199-421 do not SUPPORT 507616-B21 hard disk? It has only HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID. Place where I purchased it said it has SATA/SAS disk array controller.
I tried to install CentOS6.2 today but it didn't detect my drives. Maybe I need to buy one of these HP Smart Array P212.

The name of the controller pretty much tells the story. It's a SATA only device. If you want to use your SAS drives then you will need to install a P212.

Yes you are right. I was being dumb and wasn't reading carefully specifications. You live and learn, thank you for your help and patience with me.
NOTE: Upgrading from 4 Non-Hot Plug SATA hard drives to 4 Hot Plug SATA/SAS hard drives requires the addition of a storage controller and one Internal mini-SAS cable (P/N 496013-B21).
Tomorrow I'm getting P410 controller for our server and hard disks.
