I have 3 of these servers (mentioned above) and on all 3 of them right out of the box they list 2 unknown devices in device manager. Does anyone have any idea what these devices are?
Also, each server has 2 pci-e riser cards installed. Do these cards need drivers?
Attached is the System Resource Report in .txt format.
Thanks in Advance,

Solutionaccording to Debian on a DL360G6 these devices are:
0ca2-0ca2 : ipmi_si
0ca3-0ca3 : ipmi_si
0ca4-0ca5 : pnp 00:01
Windows calls them "Motherboard resources".
Guess you should install the IPMI system interface drivers or something.
Cheers,
Tamas

Looks like it's the same for Win2003.
Other than that, i could only gather that 0ca4-0ca5 is some ACPI resource on the motherboard:
pnp 00:01: parse allocated resources
pnp 00:01: add io 0x70-0x77 flags 0x1
<<
pnp 00:01: add io 0xca4-0xca5 flags 0x1
pnp 00:01: add mem 0xe0000000-0xe3ffffff flags 0x1
<<
pnp 00:01: PNP0c02: calling quirk_system_pci_resources+0x0/0x15c
pnp 00:01: Plug and Play ACPI device, IDs PNP0c02 (active)

You say you have a 180 G6, can you upload the System Resource Report for it so I may look at it?

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 w/ Windows Server 2003 Device Manager Lists Unkown Devices
Anyways, the left desktop is the DL180 G5, the right is the DL180 G6.
Fast hungarian language course: "Alaplap eroforrasai" = "Motherboard resources"

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 w/ Windows Server 2003 Device Manager Lists Unkown Devices
hello there!
here is how we solved the problem: run IE on the server and just go to www.my-config.com
the web site will detect all the devices on the server and list the unknown devices with links to download the drivers.
HP please update your driver list for this Server!!!!!

Rami Sawalha
