HP ProLiant DL185 G5 HP hard drive

Hello, I have a server:
Product: HP ProLiant DL185 G5 2352 12LFF EU Srv
Serial number: XXXXXXXXXX(for your security, I have removed the serial number from your post above - that's information you probably don't want to make publicly available)
Product number: 461338-421
Care Pack: GEXHRU0004C1

When the hard drive failure, he goes to replace by the Care Pack system. Can we install a regular hard drive, which is not conceding original drive, at the time of replacing for the purpose of insurance RAID5 array?
Also, I would like to know how can I remotely monitor the RAID array?

Hi,

well, if you replace a drive you shouldn't replace it with the orginal drive.

For HP support purposes - you probably want to replace the disk with an "HP Drive". You can buy one disk from HP to use as a spare?

There are many ways to monitor and the method how to set them up on the server depends on which OS you are running.

In linux you could use CLI tools 'hplog' or 'hpacucli' to query status.
