HP ProLiant DL320 G5p Sata
Hello, I just received one of those servers from a customer. The problem is that the controller doesnt find the HDD's and there are no power/activity leds flashing indicating that they are online.
Does anyone know what the problem could be? This is a brandnew server with 2 SATA 146GB hdd's and I have enabled the onboard RAID Controller in the BIOS (F9).

Re: HP ProLiant DL320 G5p Sata
Hi Emil,
The embedded controller does not support the drive leds, only the optional cards support this so don't expect to see the leds lit at any time.
It sounds like a power or cabling issue. Can you check the power cable to the drive backplane from the system board to make sure all the pins are secure. Also try with one drive only since it could be possible that one drive is affecting the other.
I hope this helps.
Brian

Re: HP ProLiant DL320 G5p Sata
Thanks for your reply. I did check both the sata and power cable that go into the mobo and the backplate and made sure they were connected properly. I will check the drives tomorrow.
Thanks.
Thanks.
