HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 - Unable to reset BIOS password

Hey Folks,

I have an HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 appliance (ArcSight) and I am unable to reset the BIOS password.

I have tried all dip switch 0ff but dip 6 on.. reboot until asked to restart as this is supposed to clear the NVRam. - Unsuccesfull. It books back and applies all the default settings but then I am prompted for the BIOS password when I try to access it.

I have also tried to remove the battery (and power supply) for a few minutes and same process.. but unsucessfull.

Any idea how I can achieve to reset the BIOS password ?

Much appreciated

Pete

Currently not where I can acces a system easily to look at this. Try turning sw1 and sw5 on and see if that lts you bypass

Re: HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 - Unable to reset BIOS password

Unfortunately switch 1 & 5 is not working.

Anyone else has another suggestion ? I really need to access the BIOS...

Thanks!

Re: HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 - Unable to reset BIOS password

FYI,

I did put switch 1&5 on. When I try to access the system settings I am prompted with the following message:

Password override switch detected in the ON position. Power off the server and turn switch to OFF postion.

Therefore I am unable to access the BIOS settings.

I also see Refundant ROM detected... maybe this can help ? thanks

Thanks all..

My issue is now resolved. I tried switch 6 2-3 times in a row and now the bios password is gone.

Thanks»!
