HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 - Second processor did not power up
I'm installing a brand new HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 - Xeon E5-2403V2 1.8 GHz - Server (748204-S01) and have added a second Intel Xeon E5-2403V2 - 1.8 GHz CPU (708495-B21).
The server stops i POST with status code 5808.
And shows this error as well:
245 - Processor Power-on issue: Processor 2 did not power up.
Action: Confirm installed processors id the same model. If so power cycle.
If not resolved, reset or swap processors. If the issue persists, contact
HP service.
As far as i can see the processors is the same model. Any suggestions?

Re: HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 - Second processor did not power up
Hi,
If possible swap the processors. Proc 1 in Slot 2 and Proc 2 in Slot 1 and see if issue follows slot or processor.
Either the processor and slot could be faulty.
Its a good idea to update BIOS to the latest before adding new processor.
Thank You!

Re: HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 - Second processor did not power up
As suggested by Suman_1978, swap CPU's and see if the problem follows a certain slot or CPU, and that's also a good way to double-check and make sure both processors are seated properly.
