HP ProLiant DL385
Hello All,
Here are my specs:
1.8GHz AMD Opteron 265 Processor
A05 BIOS
Smart Array 6i Controller
Logical Drive #1 RAID 5, 203.5 GB (says its ok)
Last week, I corrupted my domain controllers. I have one back up and running, however my secondary domain controller I am unable to install my Windows 2003R2 32bit software back onto. I go through the installation process and it hangs with 8 minutes left.
What steps do I take to install the software when dealing with an Array?
Should I just delete my Raid and start from scratch? I do have some files on the RAID, however I dumped them before it crashed. I could lose the data if need be. I am just unsure of what steps to take when reinstalling software, deleting RAIDS ect.
thank you for ANY help you can give me!

Re: HP ProLiant DL385
use smartstart CD to install your OS
select the SSCD depending on your OS - x32 or 64bits
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3288114&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=428936&submit.y=0&submit.x=0тМй=en&cc=us
after that go to
Software - CD-ROM
boot from the CD and recreate your RAID and reinstall your OS

Re: HP ProLiant DL385
How long should the Smart Start process take once I have installed the OS CD and it is attempting to install from CD. It has been running for an hour now.
Should I delete my configuration and start from scratch, have Smart Start assign my array ect.?
The disc worked on my other server, so I do not believe it is a disc error.
thanks,
