Hello and welcome to the forum =)

Your English is fine.

See the quickspecs about how the memory should be installed.

The DIMMs you bought - are they: "PC2-5300 Registered DIMMs"
Are any of them single rank and some dual rank?

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12901_na/12901_na.HTML#Memory

1. Slot 1 only; slots 1 and 2 only (pairs must be of the same size)
2. Slots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,and 6 (pairs must be of the same size and in the example below with slots 1 and 2 the same and slots 2 and 3 the same, and slots 5 and 6 the same)
3. Dual rank DIMMs can only be supported in slots 1 and 2.

So, if you take your two new DIMMs and put them in Slot 1A and 2A - does that work? If not, then it is quite likely that those DIMMs does not work in the later slots either.

Re: HP ProLiant G5 ML150 Problem with upgrading memory

1A - 2GB Kingston
2A - 2GB KIngston
3B ---------
4B ---------
5C ---------
6C ---------

And it is not working
This new memory both is exacly the same. On box I have this information "KV667D2N5/2G 2GB PC2-5300 CL5 240-pin DIMM KTC CS0202CD 99U5316-059.A00LF 4876" That's all

Re: HP ProLiant G5 ML150 Problem with upgrading memory

Are they this?

4 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 2 x 2 GB Single Rank Kit
461840-B21

The HP servers are quite picky.

Re: HP ProLiant G5 ML150 Problem with upgrading memory

No as I said it is Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G so you think that memory is not compatible witch my server. All of features are correct so I don't undestand why it isn't working HP servers works only with HP brand ram memory?

Re: HP ProLiant G5 ML150 Problem with upgrading memory

Hi Cwieg,

ML150 G5 comes with PC2-5300 Registered Buffered DIMMs (DDR2-667) Memory and there isn't any part no for unbuffered non ECC memory in the server specs... So that indicates that server support ECC buffered memory only.

The memory (Kingston ValueRAM 2GB System Memory KVR667D2N5/2G, DDR2 667 (PC2-5300), CL5, 240-Pin, Non-ECC, Unbuffered) that you have purchased does not look like HP memory... and third party memory may or may not work on HP Servers especially when you are mixing it with HP memory. Also you may not get support from HP if you install third party memory in the server.

supported memory on this server with the same configuration is:
4 GB REG PC2-5300 2 x 2 GB Single Rank Kit 461840-B21.

Hope you are with me...

So, you got two options
1.
Get ECC registered same specs memory if you are not under support contract with HP and warranty expired or don't care of support from HP.

2.
Get HP recommended memory as mentioned above.

hope this helps.

thanks,
Aftab

Aftab Ali is right. You need to buy HP 461840-B21 or equivalent, for example Kingston KTH-XW9400LPK2/4G.

Re: HP ProLiant G5 ML150 Problem with upgrading memory

I would use Axiom RAM instead of Kingston for HP servers.

HP part number dash AX

ex:
HP Part number: 111111
Axiom Part number: 111111-AX

Axiom makes most of HP RAM so it will work fine. I use 8 x 4GB in my 64-bit SQL server.
