Hi everybody!.
I have a old HP ProLiant ML350 G4p that I would like to increase it´s storage, but I´m a total rookie here. I posted a few pictures of the outside and inner parts of the server in the spanish version of HP forum, but none has answered, you can check them on this link http://h30467.www3.hp.com/t5/Servidores/HP-ProLiant-ML350-G4p-incluyo-fotos-como-aumento/td-p/605330 in case they are helpful.
I want to add a single 1 Terabyte HDD, but I have no idea what kind of drive I can plug, IDE?, SCSI, SATA?, SATA3?.
I believe the current most usual disks you can buy at computer stores are SATA3, right?. Could I just insert a SATA3 drive in an empty slot and that would be all?.
The server currently houses several SCSI 75 gb HDD (check the link), but they are not enough for my needs, therefore the 1 TB disk.
I will be using the server for non-critical stuff, so no need for scsi, o mirror drives or things like that
My prayers will go to anybody who can guide me in the right direction.

SolutionHi,
Please refer to QuickSpecs of the server for any compatibility information you want.
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04284160
ML350 Generation 4p (G4p) is available in SCSI and SATA server.
From the image I got to know the part number as 380197-421, which is a HP ProLiant ML350 G4p Intel Xeon® Processor 3.40 GHz 2MB 1GB SCSI Tower Server.
https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/05/380197-421.htm
Coming to the Storage question, at present your server has 4x72.8GB SCSI hard drives.
According to the QuickSpecs, Maximum Internal Storage
2.40TB 6 x 300GB with standard drive cage + 2 x 300GB with optional ML3xx Two Bay Hot Plug SCSI Drive Cage
So a single drive of 1TB is not possible.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee
