Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

Hi, there's a problem with the SmartArray driver and Windows 2003, check this post:

https://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1059466

The advisory is public, so I can provide you a link:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00715130&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

An HP ProLiant server configured with one of the HP Smart Array SCSI or SAS/SATA Controllers and software listed in the Scope section (below) may blue screen with Stop 0x000000D1 when operating under extended high I/O activity.
This occurs because the Microsoft KB932755 update to the Storport driver exposes an issue with I/O Control (IOCTL) calls made by the HP Insight Management Storage Agents

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

Its a driver error.Try installing Windows again with the Smart Start CD:

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/28032.html

It contains all drivers which the server needs.

Are you able to start Windows in safe mode?

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

hi guys

the point is the Blue screen appears when the person is installing windows not when is already installed

I had a customer who tried SSCD 7.9 - 7.91 with the same results

even I saw another thread where the person already had installed windows he updated all drivers.... and the issue at the end was a bad storage controller

----
so the thread I linked shows that the person install windows manually or use SSCD 7.8

--------
I think is the driver for the controller that SSCD loads that cause this blue screen

chipeta try and let us know

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

If he's installing using the SmartStart CD, it should work directly.
This server does not have a floppy drive, but we could also try to boot with Windows CD and load latest driver manually.

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

as Karlo says i get the blue screen before installing the OS so i will not be able to start Safe Mode. i think i need a solution to resolve the stop error before installation the OS

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

if i install the OS without the SSCD will i guess i will loss the data on the HDD when i revert to the controller, will the drivers installed still apply to the controller after the data is lost?

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

sorry

what do you mean by data lost? is that fresh installation right?

you mean the RAID level that you configure with Smart start cd?

Re: HP ProLiant ML350 G5

hi

Ok so what you're doing is not a fresh installation?

I mean when you say loss data you mean your server already has another windows? or any other data?

mmm so you previously with the e200 had windows? if so try windows repairing, check this link
http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic8356.html

it repairing: Step 3: System repair steps
