HP ProLiant SL230s
I have SL230s Gen8 blades and I'm trying to upgrade to v2 CPU, firmware is up to date. Blades are working absolutely fine with V1 CPUs but when I upgrade to CPU v2 it wouldn't POST, ILO is not loading and when I check the logs after downgrade back to v1 CPU I have no errors. AS number is 650050-003, Rev 0K. Anyone encountered the issue before? I've tried Xeon E5-2609 v2 and E5-2650 V2 Thank you.

Re: HP ProLiant SL230s
Hi m8,
I did not play with SL servers much but as much I can see one note which make my concern in specs of the server.
"NOTE: For 115W CPU support, customers must use the HP 1500W Common Slot Platinum Plus Hot Plug Power Supply Kit (684532-B21)."
Not 100% sure if that would be the case.
If you have an option to test the CPU in different chassis t would be great.
Regards,
Piotr

Re: HP ProLiant SL230s
Hi, pal, thank you for the answer I have 1200W PSUs, I've checked the CPU's before hand the E5-2650 v1 I've tested is 95W and the E5-2609 v2 is 80W. So it's not power related issue but still don't know what really happens. If you have any more ideas you are more than welcome to share. Search engines didn't help too much. I've read manuals and advisories and the only thing I've found is this link but my blades are not included:

Thanks.
Regards, T.T.

Re: HP ProLiant SL230s
I am currently facing the same situation. Did you find a resolution to this problem with upgrading to v2 processors?
