HP Prolaint ML350 G6 slow and not responding

We're replacing our file server with the new model and when we copy the data from the old server to the new it becomes unresponsive after a while and requires a boot.

Prevouis OS was Server 2003 and new one is 2008 64-bit standard edition. Any advice on this problem?

Hi!

How are you copying the data over?
Where was it?
Where is it being put?

If you just keep it running without doing anything, does it become unresponsive then?

It could be that the server states unresponsive because its busy. I see my servers say unresponsive alot. It is still working and releases. Try uninstalling the anti-virus on both servers or disabling it. You might want to move data in smaller amounts. If the servers are close and can be offline, use a CAT 6 cross over cable and 1 Gbps full duplex.
