I upgraded the RAM our server from 4 gig to 8 gig and the the server is not showing the additional RAM increase. Is there something I need to do for it to show.

ya if the operating system is microsoft on my computer right click properties advanced startup and recovery choose setting and next tab system startup choose edit and the end of line type /pae and save and exit.
system must restsrt and when the boot os 8 gig detect yuor system.

Might be that you have an old BIOS as well if that doesn't work.

1.what is your module of ram ? for ex: 2gb 4gb
2.is compatible old ram and new ram
3.you should check in bios and in os and say to me is equal
4.what is configuration of your ram?

Unless you have the latest ROMpaq installed, it won't show memory over 3.5 GB, if I recall (it's been over a year since I worked on a G4).

And that's the case whether it's a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
