Re: HP Proliant 150ML G5 SBS 2008 setup problem

I have installed the 1.28.03 driver provided by LSi as discussed earlier.
The system didnt accepted it at first as being a newer (and better) driver. I had to force the installation.

After that I have started some hd benchmarks with hdtune pro with 1 positive result and quickly after that the same system freeze and red light blinking.
Seems this didnt solve the issue yet.

Back to HP and replacing the card with an E200.

Michal, Good point. You should have: FW SC40ge: 06.18.05.00 (1.23.42.00) (27 Oct 2008)
available on URL: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?swItem=MTX-86ea6c7f49db4e82a0fb1b5dc8тМй=en&cc=us&idx=0&mode=4&

or he can try FW/bios from LSI, flashing works from boot diskette/usb or from LSI raid manager (prefering only boot disk)

Re: HP Proliant 150ML G5 SBS 2008 setup problem

I have verified BIOS/FW on the LSi raid card.
Showing MPTBIOS-6.18.05.00, so that should be the latest.

Also the BIOS of the ML150G5 itself is on version 017 (03/08/2008), which is the latest I believe.

hmm, strange, try this bios/fw:
http://www.lsi.com/DistributionSystem/AssetDocument/support/downloads/hbas/sas/SAS3041E.zip

I have HP bios/fw on controllers, so this is not tested situation (by me).
What kind of hdd (p/n) do you have?

Re: HP Proliant 150ML G5 SBS 2008 setup problem

Seems odd we have different behaviour at the moment.

Part numbers on the harddisk in (both) systems are as follows;
2x 376594-001 (72GB SAS 15k) in RAID1
2x 395501-002 (500GB SATA) in RAID1

Leaving the office now for some weekend, will continue this monday the earliest.

Re: HP Proliant 150ML G5 SBS 2008 setup problem

Has anyone found a working solution for this problem yet? I just purchased a HP ProLiant ML150 G5 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing the same issue with the red light. I also have two SATA disks, RAID I, LSI SAS 1064E running on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. I've tried installing the FW and BIOS updates you all have suggested but nothing has worked.. it eventually freezes up. If all else fails, I'm selling this server and switching to Dell for good!
