Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

I have been sent a new motherboard for my blade, but when I go to put it back into place I am receiving a red LED light right below the UID LED. Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

2 UID (Unit Identification LED)
3 Health LED
4 NIC #1 LED

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

Health status is Critical. I have taken all components out in sequence to isolate the fault. No difference.
The motherboard originally in was a D version, but the new one is a B version.
Don't know what else to do. Thanks.

Make sure you install and more all components from older system board to new one: Array Controller, NIC, Fiber, DC , filter
What your server generation and what you have at front Diagnostic or I/O Port for service ?

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

also update management module to 2.2 if needed on the enclosure

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

already upgrade the enclosure to 2.2. Still hasn't helped.

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

Hi Chris,

Put all complete parts into the new board. Slot in into the enclosure. With the "critical" LED still on. Press & hold the pwr button for abt 10 secs. It should be able boot up & thereafter, the critical LED will be OFF. Pwr & NIC LED should be Green then.

Cheers!!

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

What Generation BL20p?
All fans connected?
If you have chase to swap from other, swap: DC-DC , filters, SA Controller, NIC
If you done with all swap, reset, of mentioned Components, you tried different Bay, different enclosure if you still have problem
Swap system board with HP

Re: HP Proliant BL20P motherboard replaced

I have spoken with HP since placing this thread. Seems they sent me the wrong motherboard, so they are sending out a correct part. Thanks for all your help.
