HP Proliant DL360 G3- iLO administrator password

Hi,

Can someone tell me where I can find the iLO administrator password as I can find it nowhere? My other machines (HP Proliant DL380 G3) all have a little note attached to them containing the iLO administrator username and password.

Usually there is a toe tag that comes with the server; or on some servers there is sticker. The password is a random set of characters. If you cannot find the password, you can use the security override switch/jumper (depending on the server) to bypass the password

Use the system sitches then do it. Make the switch no 1 = on then try it.
then switch no 6 = on then try it.

Hi Werner,

simply reboot the server, at the POST look for a message saying "Press F8 to configure iLO". Once you are in there, you can change the administrator password, create your own custom accounts etc.

Unlike the RILOE's, iLO implements local security, so unless the security switch/jumper is enabled, you will be challenged for authentication when you press F8 to configure the iLO

was speaking from my experience from this arvo...am fully aware of the security override switch tho....so here is what happened...was installing a brand new proliant dl380 g3 with an ilo...the tag that comes attached to the box had info on admin (user name, passwd, dns, etc)...however, i didnt need any to get into the "F8" utility to configure it the way i wanted...no authentication challenge...

interestingly enuff, i also remember instances where i had used security override switch in the past...

did i miss something?

I setup a DL 580G2 not long ago and I was challenged to log in to the iLO. Fortunately on the right side of the DL580 G2 there is a sticker with the pertinent info. Without that sticker I would have had to hit the override switch on the sys.board.
