Attacthed the P400 at the moment is the following config:-
SAS Array A 2 X 36GB SAS drives Raid 1+
SAS Array B 2 X 36GB SAS drives Raid 1+
SAS Array C 3 X 72GB SAS Drives Raid 5
A new 146 GB SAS Drive has been added into Port1 Bay 8.
I have gone into the configuration wizard, but there is no option to extend the drive,so i cannot add it to the exsisting Raid 5 and as its only 1 drive there is no point in setting a new raid logical drive.
What do you advise me to do.

Solution
First, if you added the 146GB drive to the raid5 array which is made up of 72GBdrives, half of the space of the 146GB drive would be wasted, it would be used as a 72Gb drive along with the other three 72GB drives.
Second, your P400 must have the BBWC option installed to be able to do online array expansion as you are trying to do. Check that you have this option and ensure the cache settings are correct and the battery is in working order. If all is in order, did you try expanding the existing array and was the option in ACU not available?

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G3 with a P400 Array Controller
Do you have the BBWC installed and is it in good working order? If not, the expand array option will not be available.
