HP Proliant DL380 G4 DVD disk boot
Hi,
I recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G4. I set the boot priority to CD/DVD and tried to boot windows or linux but it always seeks PXI or Floppy disk not CD/DVD. Surprising!
I found that it could be the bugs with ROM and did update (ref: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24647.html)
But still i failed to boot from CD. The same
CD works perfectly well in other server.
Any way to solve this issue.
Any hints suggestion greatly appreciated.
Sarose

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G4 DVD disk boot
Hi!,
I would try to configure the server with the latest Smartstart CD (7.70). This is available from HP.com, just search on Smartstart....you can download the iso file in .zip format.
Using SmartStart to set up the server is the preferred way to deploy a server, as it sets up the server for the selected O/S.
If the SmartStart won't boot, contact your warranty provider as you may have a defective CD/DVD drive, cable or System module.
regards,
Louis
