Re: HP Proliant DL380 G5 not work with two CPU 5310
There's 2 system I/O boards.
s/p 407749-001 support 50xx and 51xx only.
s/p 436526-001 support 50xx, 51xx, 52xx, 53xx and 54xx CPU's
Beware: allways upgrade BIOS to latest before installing new CPU.

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G5 not work with two CPU 5310
Have you installed the PPM for the 2nd CPU?
(PPM = Processor Power Module)
It is supplied, if you buy the CPU as an option part.

it look like this:
http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/623-40067-10921/HP-ProLiant-DL380-G5-Rack-Server-Server---Voltage-Regulator.html
There must be 2.
1 module for each CPU.

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G5 not work with two CPU 5310
This is why you should buy the option parts from HP, using the option part no.
The option kit, contain CPU, Heatzink and PPM.
