HP Proliant DL380 G6 Power Supply select

Dear All,

We have HP Proliant DL380 G6 Server with only one 460w power supply, I am new IT guy and I thinkg this server runs on limits. I want to upgrade power supply to 2x1200w or at least 2x750w. I ask for spare parts and firm providing power supply told me that if 460w installed we should buy 460w 750w or 1200w won't work.

 Is that true or not ?
