HP Proliant DL380G4 convert single data disk to raid-1
We have one server that has one disk as a single drive. Is it possible to add another disk and replicate data to that, so we would have raid-1 instead of just single disk? Without doing any major changes to installation.

Yes.
With some limitations.
If You have a Smart Array controler. You put in 1 disk and create a RAID 0.
Then you can add more disks later, and migrate RAID level on-line.
No problem.
The limitaion is, that you can't take a disk from a non Smart Array, nad convert that.

Re: HP Proliant DL380G4 convert single data disk to raid-1
We have SA642 on the server. Is it with that to convert current single drive to RAID1 if we buy another drive, without major configuration changes?

No problem.
You can do this on-line.
Install new disk.
open acu.
add new disk to array
Choose migrate.

You can do it on-line, without any interruption.
There's allways a minor risk, so ensure you got a good backup.
