Hi!
So problem is that, my iLO of HP Proliant DL380G9 noticed that some problems with HDD
Status Degraded (Predictive failure) Serial Number 03GHYAZC Model EG0600JEHMA Media Type HDD Capacity 600 GB Location Port 2I Box 3 Bay 7 Firmware Version HPD5 Drive Configuration Configured Encryption Status Not Encrypted
HDD MODEL that installed is EG0600JEHMA
i bought another driver HPE MODEL: EG000600JWJNP
I tried to compare them - it's look like everything is the same, only firmware is different HPD5 and HPD1
Can someone tell me can i make a replacement with new drive?
Thank you in advance!

SolutionDrives always have product and spare part numbers.
Drives with same specs most of the times get the same numbers, even if these are different models.
Different models have different firmware.
How about the spare part numbers of your drives?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant DL380G9 - HDD replacement
There is a Spare Part# or S/P# printet on the Disk.
Here it should be very small at the front label.
If it is the same, it is a full replace with same Specs.
The Number from your new Drive (EG000600JWJNP), is unknown to me.
Check by yourself: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00305257

Re: HP Proliant DL380G9 - HDD replacement
thank you for the reply.
so spare part number of installed damaged drive i cannot see
spare part of new drive is 787646-001B
but also by this table https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04315770
looking by HPE Model Number i found that this is similar drives
for example:
EG000600JWJNP HPD1 J9F46A 787646-001 HPE MSA 600GB 12G SAS 10K SFF(2.5IN) DUAL PORT ENTERPRISE
EG0600JEHMA HPD5 J9F46A 787646-001 HPE MSA 600GB 12G SAS 10K SFF(2.5IN) DUAL PORT ENTERPRISE
as you can see difference only in firmware.
but drives are different outwardly - drive EG0600JEHMA that installed and damaged has led indicators on front panel (drive behavior etc)
drive that i bought, doesn't have such kind of led indicators, only two small ones
so i confused little bit.
your assistance kindly required and will be appreciated
thank you in advance

Same Part#, same Product, regardless of Manufactor or any LED.
HPE take care about this.
Change it.

Re: HP Proliant DL380G9 - HDD replacement
Looks like your new drive has the old style drive carrier (ore Gen8) and not the smart drive carrier.
Don't insert it, it may damage the slot.
new:
old
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
