HP Proliant DL580 G5: Uncorrectable Memory Error (System Memory, Memory Module 8)
Server shut down "unexpectedly" at 3:15 AM Tuesday Feb 28th. No smoking gun in Windows Event Log or System Management Console, but titile error was found via HP tools in Integrated Management Log (IML).
So I ran Insight "online" diagnostics, and it turns out there is no DIMM in Module 0 Slot 8, and all the other DIMMs (10 of them) check out fine. System has 20 GB of total RAM, BTW. Only thing Diagnostics showed was a bad 73.4 GB HDD in Physical Hard Drive 3 (I believe this is RAID 1?, which means it'll run as long as two HDDs are OK?)
This server was commissioned in 2008. Running Windows Server 2003 SP 2 Build 3790.
Is Memory Module 8 actually the 8th DIMM, because if I count off the DIMMs, which are not in consecutive slots, the 8th DIMM is in slot 10, and when I run a compare between configurations, it highlights DIMM 10
