Re: HP Proliant DL580 G5 keeps on ASR
if the firmware up to date?
Firmware CD 8.2
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3454575&prodNameId=3562405&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-3d1aaa0b48c04b628789e598d3
even if you already applied the latest Firmware CD
I recommend you update system too since the version included in Firmware CD is not the latest

Re: HP Proliant DL580 G5 keeps on ASR
The firmware is up to date.To me it looks as
it is a some sort of hardware issue.Ran diags for 2 days Server come back with no hardware errors. The Server will ASR once a month. The customer are also investigating
with VMWARE as to the blue screen. This is a
production Server so it is causing alot of
problems.May have to open case with HP once
VMWARE ocnfirm this is hardware related.
4xQuad core Proc.
64GB Ram.
3xNC360T
2xFibre cards qlogic.

Re: HP Proliant DL580 G5 keeps on ASR
I opened a case with HP.They have confirmed that the error relates to a memory fault in
Bank4 and Bank5.The problem i have is this is what VMware is seeing via the O/S.The Service manual has the banks A through to h.I have been
told by HP this is BankD and BANKE.However i am
not totally convinced as there is no official documentation that i can find as to what VMware
is locating the faulty dimms.Does any one have
exposure from Vmware to determine and confirm for sure the dimm locations.
Thanks

Re: HP Proliant DL580 G5 keeps on ASR
make sure the cpu with highest steping is in order
feks highest stepping cpu in first slot, etc
quad cores can be picky about steppings especially under load.
