HP Proliant Gen8 DL380p Server OS Upgrade using 1.72 Intelligent Provisioning Software

I have never used the Intelligent Provisioning feature with this HP Proliant Gen8 DL380p Server. Based on what I have read, I should be able to download the latest ** CRITICAL ** Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media version 1.72 and upgrade the existing OS 2012 R2  to 2016 Server including any critical driver / firmware updates. Is it that straight forward?

Based on  Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media Revision history below are fixes added into IP 1.72 release.

Upgrade Requirement:
Critical - HPE requires users update to this version immediately.

Add fix for CVE-2020-15705 to avoid loading unsigned kernels when grub is booted directly under secure boot.
Add fix for CVE-2020-10713 to patching GRUB2 to avoid Boot Hole Vulnerability.
Add fix for CVE-2020-7205 to avoid unauthenticated code execution by insmod.
Include hexane-1.0.1-1.x86_64.rpm to update UEFI DBX. Executing hexane RPM to update UEFI DBX will be performed when using Intelligent Provisioning recovery media to update Intelligent Provisioning.

Hence you cannot upgarde existing OS 2012 R2 to 2016 Server including critical driver / firmware updates with Intelligent Provisioning Recover 1.72.
