HP Proliant - HP Smart Array P411 connected to HP P2000 G3 Array - ACU says no physical drives!
Well pretty sure how its connected anyway.
Disks are fine - all there in disk management.
Problem is if I go into ACU its telling me no physical disks. Must admit I am wondering if its an old version of ACU? (v9.10.22.0)

Hi,
the P2000 G3 arrays are not dumb :)
They have an SMU (web interface, there's also ssh) where you need to create the vdisks and present the disks to the server before they pop up in the OS. They will not be seen in ACU or SSA.
Actually, is it an P2000 G3 (with controllers) or is it some sort of (dumb) P2000 disk shelf that somehow presents the disks as JBOD?

Re: HP Proliant - HP Smart Array P411 connected to HP P2000 G3 Array - ACU says no physical drives!
Its a G3. Its connected to an add-on card on the server which I assumed was the P411 card. Maybe its not.
So I guess ACU displaying P411 as no disks is correct. There are no disks and possibly no P411 card. And that its connected and managed differently?
So how do I access?

Re: HP Proliant - HP Smart Array P411 connected to HP P2000 G3 Array - ACU says no physical drives!
There are P2000 disk enclosures (see http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02020940#N106BE ) which do not have the controllers.
If this is a P2000 G3 with (SAS perhaps? There are also fibre channel or iSCSI version of the P2000 G3) controllers then you manage it by connecting to the IP of the management interface.
From the user guide http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02254382 the default IP addresses are:
Management Port IP Address: 10.0.0.2 (controller A), 10.0.0.3 (controller B) тАв IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 тАв Gateway IP Address: 10.0.0.1

Its SAS it seems.
Cant get those IP to work though.
Looks like its nothing to do with the P411 and ACU then.
