HP Proliant ML 330 G6 -- RAID 1 need to be upgraded
Hi,
Here's my problem. I got a ML330G6 with 2x250sata drive in RAID 1 with the HP Array integrated.
Those disks are splitted in 2 volumes :
-60gb OS
- 140gb data
Both of them are now nearly full. I need to change disks and I ordered 2x1tb.
Question is : what is the best way to move datas from the existing raid to the new one? Do I need to brake the raid into the controler? Can I replace one of the existing HD by one the 1tb HD? As so when data will be duplicated on the new one, I thought booting on it and plug the 2nd 1tb HD. As so, I will get the 2 1tb HD in RAID0. But, what's next? Can I use the "free space" to extand my partitions? Do I need to use HP's controller array utility (the one after the boot sequence by pressing F8)? Or is there some utility with a bootable disk?
Also, if I use the F8 array's utility, can I break the existing RAID without loosing any data?
I tried to connect one of the disks into my computer and could not see the data partition but only the OS partition. I tried to make a basic clone disk with Clonezilla but it failed.
Many thanks for your help.
