HP Proliant ML150 G5 Turns itself off after power-on
Logging into the serial console and running a few commands, the last log record shows this:
Properties
number=37
date=07/10/2008
time=13:33:04
sensordescription=Inlet Amb Tem
eventdescription=Lower Critical-going low
eventdirection=Assertion
Would this be the reason the unit is turning off?
Reading the sensor directly:
show oemhp_sensor_num39lun0
oemhp_sensor_num39lun
Targets
Properties
oemhp_readingtype=1
oemhp_sensortype=1
oemhp_status=61
oemhp_reading=128-
oemhp_sensorstring=Inlet Amb Tem
What values should be read here?
If this is a faulty sensor, how can I find out where this temperature sensor is?
Is the PEF configuration enabling the unit to turn itself off on this sensor event? If so, is there a way to turn off the PEF via command line? (I do not have iLO 100c card, serial console is my only way of configuring the device)
Would appreciate any help.

Re: HP Proliant ML150 G5 Turns itself off after power-on
just call HP and request this part to be replace it is just a simple cable
just open your box I think you can get it
it is one of the cables that goes from the bezel to the System Board

Re: HP Proliant ML150 G5 Turns itself off after power-on
I have started to track down HP resellers in Australia that will have this part but it looks like I'll have to order it from the US so it might take a while.
In the meantime is there any way I can bypass this sensor (either in hardware or via the serial console?)
Cheers.

Re: HP Proliant ML150 G5 Turns itself off after power-on
I think you can try remove this temperature sensor cable from system board and server will boot up fine well at least that worked for a DL180 g5 I hopes it does the same with the ml150 g5
but does not your server have warranty? a G5?

I did not buy the unit direct from HP, I will follow up regarding warranty.
Cheers.
