HP Proliant ML150 G6 xeon x5687 compatibility
hi so im looking at a HP Proliant ML150 G6 tower on ebay and wanted to know if the existing cpu (e5520) could be changed out to a x5687 for budget gaming purposes

5600 series does not look to be supported. You may also need a BIOS update, but the G6 is no longer supported and latest BIOS would require purchasing a service contract. Besides, these systems don't make good gaming rigs. They are designed for storing and serving data and are notorious for not being compatible with graphics cards designed for gaming,
