HP Proliant ML350 G5 unexpected power failure

the system shuts down unexpected, and is not rebooting.

disconnecting the power cable is necessary to reboot the system.

how can i be sure the power supply unit is the cause?

Check the Integrated Management Log (IML). Does it say anything about the unexpected shutdown(s)?

Temporarily borrow a known good power supply from another ML350 G5. Test the problem system with that power supply.

It may also be due to other reasons. Check the Systems Insight Display of the server to check if the over temperature LED is lit. Review IML logs to see if any issues have been highlighted.

If a new component added recently, if so, uninstall it from the server and check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, then reduce the server to base configuration and check if the server is able to stay powered on without issues.
