HP Proliant ML350 G9 slow network access
Hello,
We just configured a HP Proliant ML350 G9 with Windows Server 2012 R2, which hosts one virtual server using Hyper-V. However it looks like the read and write operations to/from the host are quite slow.
For example:
1. It takes about 5 seconds to write a file from the host to the a network share, and also 5 seconds to read it.
2. It takes about 5 seconds to write a file from the network to the host, and also 5 seconds to read it.
I have test this with virtual server turned of, and turned on - it does not affect network transfers. I disalbed the Virtual machines queues - does not change the results.
I will appreciate any help :)
Thank you,
Daniel

Size does matter :-)
It will make a difference if the file is 5kb or 5GB ...
However, double check the network settings, mask and gateway and duplex settings.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant ML350 G9 slow network access
As said, check the settings.
This example is taken on a win 7 system, but should be similar.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant ML350 G9 slow network access
one is showing no connectivity at all?
While in network adapter overview, select properties and then configure the adapter (1). This should show you the windows below (2).
(1)
(2)
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant ML350 G9 slow network access
Again, you should check netmask, gateway, driver and even try another cable and switch port settings and stats to find the cause of the issue.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant ML350 G9 slow network access
Hello,
Sorry for the delay on this matter. I checked the netmask, gateway - all correct. The driver is the latest version. Replaced the cable and port on the switch.Everything is the same as before.
What stats do you I need to provide ?
Thank you
