HP Proliant ML350 and HP Proliant ML370

Hi,

Can HP Proliant ML350 and HP Proliant ML370 servers support following:

1) Install 64 bit Windows 2003 or 2008 O/S
2) Can we install virtual servers? I plan to install 3-4 virtual servers
3) can we install Linux and solaris O/S on these.

Thanks

Which G version of those servers?

Virtual servers need 32-64GB of RAM for up to 4. Maybe more, will they be Exchange or SQL running on them in virtual? You need enought RAID, CPU cores, and network bandwidth for virtual servers.

What are their specs? Are they G5 or G6?

Hi Raj,

You need to mention which generation of ML350 and ML370 you are talking about.

Here is the ProLiant server matrices link which will help you check if the server supports Linux or Solaris or Windows 2003 64Bit.

Re: HP Proliant ML350 and HP Proliant ML370

Michael/Suman,

I am completely new to servers and not sure of which generation they belong. They are old servers and I got them
though some one. Is there anyway to figure out the generation? There is 4 GB of RAM now and from your update I
could figure out that we need lot of memory.

I have one each ML350 and ML370. I plan to install oracle and SQL on each of them. Let me know how can I figure out
generation they belong.

Thanks
