HP Proliant ML350p gen8 - smart array p420i boots up with wrong boot partition
Hello guys,
i just encountered this wierd issue on this model, the server has following details
OS: windows Server2008 R2
original raid config: RAID 0 - 1TB
RAID 1 - 932GB
unconfigured drives: 5nos. 1TB - 3.6TB
Upon configuring unconfigured drive into RAID5 - upon restarting, Server Unable to boot on original RAID 0 - disk.
tried to set also the set boot volume setting to RAID 0. and reads different Drive letter.
tried diskpart but didn't help.
Could you please advice whats wrong, the server was never updated with SPP.
Thanks and waiting for advice.

Re: HP Proliant ML350p gen8 - smart array p420i boots up with wrong boot partition
Hi Andro Ruan,
In this case we need to check three option only
standard boot priority order in the server BIOS
controller boot order if server is configured with multiple controller card
logical drive boot order if server is configured with multiple logical drives
both option need to be check in the SSA select right option accordingly
if issue persist then, i would request you to log support case with hpe technical support team, because log analysis are required to process further with troubleshooting in this case.
Thanks & regards,
