Joe,
Try reseating the DIMMs;

If not, clear the CMOS/NVRAM using the system maintenance switch;

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

hi Joe

the internal health means a component in the System Board that is in degraded status:

I recommend you open the server and check any amber - red LED in memory modules, processors, fans, PPM, ...

steps:

- reseat components, check cables
- swap components, for example the memory that is showing the error put in another slot, if the error follow the modules the module is bad in the other hand if the error stays in the same slot, the slot is bad so replace System board (this apply not only for memory also apply to others components for instance processors)

the idea is to determine if there is a faulty components or a loose/improperly seated component

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Thanks James & karlo.

BTW, where to locate system maintenance Switch?

I need to know whether if I ignore the Internal health LED indicate for sometime, will it effect the entire Server stability? will it be causing the server OS corrupted or cannot boot up?

Please advise.

Thanks

Joe

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

hi

ignore the internal health amber/red is not good practice why?

imagine that is a fan that is causing the issue that can cause a over temperature issue

or processor failing blue screen ... reboots

failing PPM server can shutdown

and so on try to discovery what is happening and try to fix ASAP remember your business it very important for you and your customers (happy people and $$$$)

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Hi karlo,

I opened out the server case, and i found out the memory bank #4 indicate amber LED. The rest of the internal mainboard & FAN LED is on Green.

Is that error of the memory slot or memory card problem? currently the server memory is 2GB.

Please advise.

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Hello Joe,

Please Swap the other memory to this memory SLOT with RED LED;
& boot up; See if the RED LED follows the DIMM;

If it does, then the DIMM is BAD & need replacing; If it remains at the same slot, then the memory slot on the system board is faulty & the system board needs replacement;

Usually its always the DIMM;

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Thanks guys for the advise.

I already re-seat the memory DIMM. Now the indicator LED normalize.

Seem it's not DIMM & memory slot problem, what cause the DIMM LED indicate when power failed for 3 times? In future, would it be the problem come again?

Please advise.

Regards,

JOE

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Joe,
The power failure Must have caused the Red LED;
This is totally unpredicted; Unless you have an UPS for the server; If Such power failures are FREQUENT at your place, I would recommend to have an UPS for this Server;

Lucky you, the DIMM & system board is OK;

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

Hi James,

Bad news! This morning I checked the server & the Internal LED still indicate. Would it be the DIMM confirm faulty? But the OS & SYSTEM bootup still show 2GB memory, still no sign of decrease size. System still run normalize.

Please advise.

Re: HP Proliant ML370-G4 Internal health LED indicate Red/Amber

hi joe

like I told you
swap the memory (if you have more than 1) if the LED follows the memory the memory is bad if LED stays in the same slot system board is bad.

check that, is the only way to diagnose which bad is bad

Joe, Sad to hear that it did not resolve the issue.
Good to hear that its under warranty; Request for proper diagnostics; if possible, onsite engineer + parts ! (In case, you dont have spare memory to swap & test)

James.
