HP Proliant - RAID B320i + Disk SAS + Licence key - Disk not found.
Hi,
We have a HP Proliant DL360E Gen8 Server (Ref 683948-425) with a Dynamic Smart Array B320i.
To install SAS Disk we need the HP SAS License Key for B320i.
On the ACU we entered the license and the system shows that the license is OK on ACU, but still no SAS disk.
We try to put a SATA disk on the server but it is not see by the ACU.
I think it's a problem with the Dynamic Smart Array B320i.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem ?

Have you verified the cable from the drive backplane is plugged into the B320i controller?

So you cannot see any disk (SAS or SATA)?

Yes I try this too.
For exemple, I try a SATA disk that works on a other server. But I can't test the status of the SAS disk because I don't have another server with SAS disk controller.

Since this looks like a hardware issue and your server is new, consider to call hp support.

So what is this license for anyway? I have 2 SATA (RAID1) and 6 SAS(RAID5) drives installed in a DL380e Gen8 with B320i controller. All disks are working without problem but SSA tells me about missing licenses for the SAS drives....
So why do I need that license? Just to get rid of the error message??
